I have been asked can you remove the pad that attaches to the reel without leaving adhesive residue.

The answer is Yes!

But I think once you realize the benefits of FlyReelDots you will see no reason to remove Dots.

A Dot on the reel.

Dot removed to show pad on the reel.

I just removed the pad from the reel. You see there is some adhesive still on the reel. It is easy to clean off, first I rub with my thumb to remove the thickest adhesive, then I use a alcohol swab (70% Isopropyl) to clean the residue. If the reel is still slighlty sticky then repeat the process, starting with rubbing your thumb.

Above is the same reel that had adhesive residue just a moment ago. It was quick and easy to clean, leaving no evidence that there was an adhesive pad on the reel.

I hope this demonstration relieves any fears you may have about
having a permanent messy reel if you need to remove the pad.
